Blake Mills
(Alabama Shakes, John Legend, Perfume Genius)
A recent Washington Post article titled “How Blake Mills became good at everything” looked to dive into the mind of the creative genius in order to answer the headline title question but what becomes apparent is the story of a man deeply driven by music and the need to create and to collaborate and the esteem in which his musical ability, particularly on guitar is held by his peers and his contemporaries and the “soft assuredness” by which he produces and works with a wide array of artists. Constantly juggling, playing live, recording, producing and writing for others and releasing his own records on his own label through Universal, Blake this year released his latest record “Mutable Set” to universal acclaim.
